Development Action For Visionary Youth Initiative (DAVYI) is a grassroots, community-based non-governmental organization working in Southern Uganda, particularly in Kyotera and Rakai Districts.
DAVYI works alongside vulnerable and disadvantaged communities to strengthen resilience, improve livelihoods, create opportunities and support sustainable community development.

Development Action For Visionary Youth Initiative (DAVYI) is a grassroots, community-based non-governmental organization operating in Southern Uganda, particularly in Kyotera and Rakai Districts, with its Head Office located in Kakuuto–Jjengere Village, Kyotera District.
The organization exists to empower vulnerable and disadvantaged communities through sustainable development programmes that improve livelihoods, strengthen resilience and create meaningful opportunities for children, youth, women and families.
DAVYI believes that every community possesses the potential to transform itself when people are equipped with the right knowledge, skills, opportunities, resources and partnerships.
We therefore work alongside communities to identify challenges, develop practical solutions and promote sustainable approaches that can improve the quality of life for present and future generations.
Our work is guided by a commitment to sustainable and community-owned development.
We seek to equip vulnerable people and communities with knowledge, skills and opportunities that enable them to participate meaningfully in their own development.
We promote approaches that help families and communities respond to social, economic, health and environmental challenges while building sustainable livelihoods.
We work to create opportunities for children, youth, women and families through education, skills development, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.
DAVYI operates in communities where social and economic challenges are closely interconnected.
DAVYI operates particularly in Kyotera and Rakai Districts, an area that has experienced significant social and economic challenges over many years.
The HIV/AIDS epidemic had profound consequences for families and communities in the region, contributing to loss of lives, increased numbers of vulnerable children, weakened household support systems and increased poverty.
Many communities continue to experience interconnected challenges including poverty, unemployment, disease, environmental degradation, limited access to quality education, healthcare and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
DAVYI was established to respond to these challenges by strengthening communities' capacity for socio-economic development and sustainable transformation.
